The Ramification of Pornography
By
Roger Behra
On March 19, 2012, presidential candidate Rick Santorum spoke out very strongly against pornography. He told American voters “The United States is suffering a pandemic of harm from pornography”. Wow! That is so true, and the ramifications are so varied, far reaching, and culturally devastating. It is very doubtful that America will never change and emerge from the deep immoral pit that modern America has fallen into. The existing pornographic pandemic is largely a product of computers and the new type of cell phones. They are everywhere.
The first harm to individuals and the culture from pornography is addiction. In very short order addiction takes place and lasts a considerably long time. It easily takes over in a person´s life and leads to other immoral and very negative behavioral aspects. Those addicted make up a very large group of people.
Rapes in America still take place, but the percentage has gone down somewhat. That is because females are now involved in pornography. They have become willing participants in immoral sexual behavior. And the females involved include even pre-teens as young as ten-years-old- (Visit the abortion mills). Teenagers are the subjects of rape and complicit sexual behavior with older men. It is a serious problem now in the modern American culture. Young girls combine with older men because of their experience and the fact that older men remain silent.
Another effect of pornography is the increased violence against women. Women have to carefully select where they go to meet men and when is the best time to go. They decide to go in pairs or groups for the sake of personal safety and after midnight trips are not on many agendas. It is good common sense.
Pornography is a great contributor to failed marriages, because it greatly increases the desire and opportunity to engage in immoral activity outside the bond of marriage. The temptation to cheat on a spouse is unbelievably strong for both men and women. Many times it is the woman who initiates the immoral acts. In the past women were not interested in pornography. That is no longer the case.
Prostitution has increased by leaps and bounds because of pornography. Teenage girls now gravitate to prostitution. As a result teen pregnancies and abortions are on the increase. People in public libraries have seen teens and an others viewing pornography on library computers. Grown men are exposing themselves near school campuses and on streets that students take to school. The mass media frequently reports sex related crimes that are related to pornography. A great amount of credit goes to the U. S. Supreme Court who allowed pornography to be a form of free speech under the U. S. Constitution. That was a death blow to the practice of good morality.
Soon after the Supreme Court´s decision, the internet became the largest contributor to pornography and it´s resulting effects. The Court´s decision and the combined effort of the internet has opened Pandora´s box to the proliferation of immoral behavior and America´s great cultural decline. America will never recover from the combination of pornography, the internet and the Court´s decisions.
