Not The Way To Go

Ashley Lilly, 24, of Garden Grove, California, made two decisions when she was 12 years old that greatly affected her life 12 years later. They were the two decisions she never should have made. When she made those decisions not even her mother could get her to change her mind. If Ashley had listened to her mother, Ashley would have turned out so much better and still be alive today.

At age 12 Ashley decided to tell her mother she wanted to direct pornographic films. That was the first of her many bad decisions. The second bad decision was not to listen to her mother who tried several times to get Ashley to change her mind. So, it was those decisions that guided her ambition to succeed to her goal.

Ashley was a straight A high school student. At age 18 she graduated with high honors. Then she made a series of other bad decisions. This was in order to complete her desire to direct pornographic films. Ashley moved to Los Angeles. She got 3 tattoos. She worked as a stripper. She was known by the police as a prostitute. She was involved as an entrepreneur in the pornographic industry. She was working on an adult magazine. And then everything went bad 6 years after her 18th birthday.

Ashley Lilly was found beaten and strangled in a hotel room in Garden Grove, California, on August 21, 2009, allegedly, by Cesar Gomez, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico. Ashley, therefore, became a victim of her own Godless and immoral decisions. She did not deserve to lose her life, but her style of life needlessly did just that. And it all started when she did not listen to her pleading mother. Pornography and prostitution is the roadway to disaster. And for Ashley there is now no turning back. Her life was lost and most probably a happy eternity as well. Her style of life was the exact opposite of what God wanted of her and what her mother expected of her.

The only redeeming factor of Ashley`s life is this. Do not let the serious lesson she taught us go to waste. Her style of life was not the way to go with exception of her high school achievements and her graduation with honors.

As you finish reading this sad story, please take a few moments to say a prayer or two for her mother, Annamarie. Ashley was the second daughter to tragically die. That is almost too much to take in one’s lifetime.
