America’s Counterculture Characteristics

The word characteristic is defined as a special quality of feature of something or someone that is typical of them and easy to recognize. Counterculture people have definite and recognizable characteristics.
This communications does not include the 35% of people who live the good moral and traditional core values because their moral compasses are pointed in the correct direction. It basically refers to the other 65% who do not.
The 65% of Americans in the counterculture realm who have made up their own rules to live by is an intolerable amount. It is a large chunk of the American culture, and they are the ones who get the credit for the steep decline and morass that permeates America’s culture. The moral and success fiber of the culture is very much beyond the point of no return.
The 65% percent have very definite and obvious characteristics. They stand out far and away from the characteristics of traditional living people. God and His Commandments are absent from their thinking and activities. The horrendous situation the American culture is in is a direct result. It is not a coincidence at all. Their warped and clueless thinking has firmly come home to roost, indeed.
At the root of their warped and clueless thinking and actions is their idea that religious principles are not important in shaping daily living. Their obsessions with sex and pornography, drugs, money, immorality, and basic lack of respect for the dignity of the human being stand out like a sore thumb. It is not a coincidence that American’s prisons and jails are overflowing with criminals. These evil counterculture “gods” have taken the place of traditional thinking and actions.
Along with the harmful personal characteristics there are harmful and obvious cultural characteristics as well. They include: poorly organized personal lives; tattooed people that look like circus attractions; the great lack of common courtesy; cheating to get ahead; procrastination; 50% of marriages end up in divorce; 35% percent of high school students do not graduate; America’s schools are a failure; Washington, D. C. schools fail to gradute 50% of their high school students; cohabitation before marriage is at the root of later divorces of cohabitants that eventually marry; failure to take the blame for criminal and immoral behavior. These are some of the more outstanding cultural effects.

These and other negative characteristics not included here are firmly engrained in America’s culture. When so many professional and educated America people have these characteristics along with parents, teachers, young adults, and teens there is no chance the American culture will improve any time soon, or ever again. Religious thinking and living will remain along the roadside. And the 35% percent of America’s citizens will continue to pay the high price that the other 65% has caused them to live with. America’s culture is without hope of recovering. It is the sad and predictable outcome God being pushed out of counterculture lives.
