Man´s inhumanity to man takes all kinds of twists and turns and none of them are good. A recent episode of man´s inhumanity was discovered at Philadelphia, PA. Heads will be shaking for some time to come. Fortunately, the inhumane perpetrators have been identified, arrested, and will have to play the legal penalties.

The episode is being highlighted here because of the number of people involved (7) and how cruel the inhumanity was and the magnitude of the crimes. It is amazing there were no deaths, but it was a close call for the four victims.

The Philadelphia police reported that a group of people locked several other adults in a dank building basement boiler room. The boiler room doors were very securely chained shut.

When the landlord went to the basement on an errand, he noticed all the lights were out. Once the lights were put on he noticed the boiler room was chained shut and dogs were barking inside. It was quite unusual.

The landlord unchained the doors and went inside the dank and foul-smelling boiler room. The dogs quickly ran out. There was a pile of blankets. When the landlord lifted the blankets, he was stunned and lost his breath at what he found.

Under the blankets were four mentally disabled adults. All four were severely malnourished. One was chained to the boiler. The four of them were so weak they could not walk. Immediate medical assistance was called, and investigation was quickly started.

The investigation soon led to the arrest of one woman and two men. All three were charged with a vast scheme stretching from Philadelphia to Norfolk, VA, to the West Palm Beach, Fla. The ringleader was the woman charged. The scheme was an elaborate set up designed so that Social security disability checks could be stolen over a long period of time. The boiler room episode brought the whole scheme to the forefront.

The theft of their Social Security money by the three is just one upsetting aspect. There was the cruel and harmful treatment given to the four mentally disabled victims was another aspect. It shows the total lack of conscience for preying on the weak and weary and disabled. The behavior of the woman and two men arrested and charged is a perfect example of money and greed taking the place of honest and helpful behavior. When greed and the pursuit of money replace God and the Christians way of living, evil and trouble enters lives. Everyone must remember that where God, His influence, and blessings are absent, Satan, his evil demonic helpers, and his influence are present, as he roams throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Shame on Linda Ann Weston, Gregory Thomas, and Eddie Wright for not knowing better and for leaving God out and Satan into their lives.
