Warped Counterculture Thinking

Ever since the counterculture movement took effect in the middle nineteen-six-ties, the thinking of people has taken nearly a U-turn, and that has lead to much bent, twisted, and strange thinking about many important things. That fact has come to the forefront very recently. Let that fact; now be explained, because counterculture thinking has greatly changed, the culture in America.

Recently, a well known National Football League quarterback (Michael Vick) has been constantly in the mass media news once again. He just completed his prison sentence for mistreating dogs over a period of six years. The revelation of the mistreatment was a very disturbing story about how his group of friends let dogs fight to severe mauling. Some dogs who were timid were hanged from trees. Others were held under water to their deaths. Still others were hosed with water and then electrocuted with jumper cables. The mistreatment was gross and wrong and unacceptable at any time.

At the time all the facts concerning the mistreatment and deaths of the dogs unfolded in the media mainstream media reacted justifiably with great disgust. The hullabaloo was loud and continuous. How could anyone get so greatly involved in such a cruel pastime to such a degree? The media clearly and loudly made it known that the fighting to the death of the dogs, and the other mistreatments were so distasteful and disgusting!

The media was very correct in making their loud voices known against Mr. Vick. But that leads to a very big question and how the media is guilty of warped counterculture thinking. And the answer is very clear and simple. And all those who have their moral compasses pointed in the right direction will completely understand.

How can the mainstream media be so loud and clear against Mr. Vick's activities off the football field, but so quiet and unconcerned in regards to ABORTION over the past three and one-half decades? 0ver 30 million innocent babies have been murdered alone in America since the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in 1973. The silence and unconcern of the media aids and abets all the unnecessary abortions that occur everywhere in America. Where are the loud voices of the media? Where is the hullabaloo against the wanton destruction of an innocent life before it is ever started? It is the silence of the media that is so disturbing and disgusting and distasteful and WARPED.

The mass media is full of counterculture liberal people. Therefore, it is not at all surprising that the silence in regards to abortion continues. In the Vick case in essence the loud and clear message is this: animals, dogs in his case, are more worthy of life and respect than innocent and helpless little babies. Animals are more worthy than humans, and that murder of little humans does not count. It is going to be a lasting part of the counterculture legacy, indeed. The media silence is what is so distasteful and disgusting. And no matter how it' s spun, abortion is outright murder pure and simple.

There are many individuals involved in abortions. But the silence and unconcern of all the media helps abortions to continue. And it is a real tribute to the warped thinking of counterculture people. Just because abortions are legal is no excuse for the media to remain unconcerned and silent. It is also a trait of the counterculture people, as clueless as they are that just because something can be done that does not mean it should be done. The media outcry against Michael Vick was and still is justified, but the warped thinking and silence of the media in regards to abortion is purely not.
