Wrong-Headed Political Interference

The feeling that is gathering attention and steam among many Americans is that American´s new president, Barack Obama, has a strong dislike for his own country. That is quite evident now in his executive orders, and the thinking he makes know to his liberal congress, and the acceptance of the thinking given to him by the same congress. Much of that thinking put into action by the president interferes with existing laws and America´s core values. And not much can be done about it, because liberal congress thinks the same way he does. And, unfortunately, all together they have the power.

In December, 2008, prior to Obama´s inauguration and the new congress, the federal government of the U.S. enacted regulations that protected medical professional and workers from performing duties contrary to their religious and moral beliefs. Catholics, Jews, and Muslims were protected. The regulations were needed, justified, and very welcomed. The regulations supported and helped to give core values their just place in the working environment without any retaliation.

Less than two months into the Obama administration, it has been proposed to overturn the legal protection of health care providers of faith. If the present regulations are rescinded, it would be a grave and unwarranted intrusion into personal health care decisions. Many hospitals would close. Most doctors or faith would stop their practice of medicine related to moral decisions. Patient choices of providers would be limited. It would cause great upset in the health care industry.

The federal government should not be hindering and discouraging people of faith and morals from practicing their chosen professions. Instead, the federal government should be coming their aid and defense. Washington should wake up and smell the roses. Washington has no business attacking anyone´s morally correct values. Washington attacks core values because they do not have any of their own. Washington is clueless about their value.
