When American Journalism Died

During the recent campaign for the American presidency in America in 2008 there was the glaring indication that journalism in America died. One might say wait a minute. How could that happen?

Now that campaigning is completed and the election is history, the journalistic assessment has taken place, also. And the evidence is abundantly clear to say the least.

The culprit in the death of America journalism is the very liberal mainstream bias that works unchallenged in America. When journalism is alive and well, any bias is out of the question. Journalists report accurately both sides of the issues and let the chips fall where they may. That is the way it always was and the still should be. During 2008 in America the story was quite different.

When Barack Obama decided to be a presidential candidate and started his campaigning, the lapdog liberal mass media quickly fell in love with him. They could not see beyond the hearts and stars. Seventy percent of the television, radio, and print media exposure was given to him along with special feature articles. NONE of it was negative, although there were serious questions about his eligibility, background, and personal associations.

At the same time during the campaigning only 30% of the exposure was given to John McCain and Sarah Palin. And about 15% of the 305 was given to the investigation of Palin´s background and experience, and the results were very biased against her. A group of thirty people were sent to Alaska to dig up things. Therefore, only 15% of the exposure was positive for McCain and Palin. The bottom line is the lapdog liberal mass media elected Obama. And in doing so, millions of American citizens were short-changed, while the media put nails in the coffin containing the deceased corpse of journalism.

Yes, the mass media has anointed Barack Obama. They hang on the every word. He can say or do nothing wrong. He is the be-all, do-all, and say-all new savior of America. Well, that has yet to become a reality. Meanwhile, American journalism is as dead as a doornail for the foreseeable future.
