Badly Needed Reforms

By

Roger Behra

This counterculture achievement deserves the special attention it is getting here because of the devastating effect it has had on the American Public School System for the past twenty-five years. As the Public Schools have been affected, so has the American culture.

It was just a matter of time before the U. S. Government would get involved in the welfare and operation of the Public Schools. It all began when the government offered to spend millions of dollars to help the schools operate more efficiently and increase what could be offered. The schools jumped at the offer, and it has turned out to be devastating. Along with the money came government mandates, decisions, and just plain in meddling that has severely harmed the correct and necessary ends that needed for very good results. Now, only 75.5% of high school students graduate and only 39.5% attend a four-year college. Those who do attend a four-year college are swamped with remedial courses that have to be taken before they can get started on their degree objective. How things can be remedied is anyone’s guess. There is no workable solution it seems.

The American Public Schools are not the only educational institutions that are having problems: so are America’s colleges and universities. Once again it revolves around money: They charge way too much. The prospective college student has to ask if a four-year college education is affordable. In so many the answer is an emphatic, no, I cannot. That leaves two looser: the university and the prospective student.

Along with the money decision is another problem to be considered; colleges and universities offer too little in the area of degree types that cost too much to obtain. The institutions of higher learning have to come to their senses and readjust. There is no other way.

Not only do colleges and universities charge too much and offer too little, they steer the student in the wrong direction concerning the hire-ability on the graduate. There is nothing more dis heartening for a college graduate to learn that a costly degree was earned that leads to few chances of being hired. So many graduates have to tread water and serve cappuccino while they wait for a job opportunity to become available in the area of their degree expertise. Colleges and universities have considerable reforming to do in order to be more fair to the college student.

The high school, college, and university problems have been going for a very longtime, and America’s culture has suffered very greatly. Once upon a time America’s schools-colleges and universities in particular-were the envy of the outside world. That is not the case any longer. The envy has completely evaporated, and there are four losers: the high school organization; the high school and college student; the college and universities; the American culture. All the credit goes to the counterculture people in charge and their imbecile type behavior.

Counterculture Achievements Galore

By

Roger Behra

Several weeks ago near end of 2012 on the radio media there was an intense discussion about the present condition of the American culture. It followed on the heels of the horrendous massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in the state of Connecticut. During the discussion the cause and result of modern day behavior was completely missed. The participants completely missed the causal point: It is the counterculture philosophy which is galloping full steam ahead throughout the American culture! What the philosophy has achieved is the topic of discussion in this communication. The counterculture people deserve recognition for several achieve3ments that revolutionized the American culture.

The first achievement is the obvious fact that they were very successful in eliminating the influence of God end His Commandments from the American culture. The American culture contains millions of Godless behavior types of living people. Those people that love God, keep His Commandments, and live proper moral life are surrounded by them and affected by them.

The second achievement is that pretty much for the most part now so many people simply make up their own rule to live by, which is a clear reversal of cultural and traditional ways of living prior to 1965. All the abortions, cohabitation, divorces, sex crimes, and wanton murders, to name a few, are everyday indications of just how the American culture has deteriorated. Overloaded prisons are everywhere.

The third achievement is the way people are treated on an everyday basis. Common courtesy went the way of the dinosaur: It’s extinct. There are seldom any friendly greetings among strangers who do business in the public domain anymore. It’s a first attitude among young and old alike now. Parents who are impolite simply do not teach their children to be polite, or to say please and thank you.

The fourth achievement concerns the mode of dress of modern American females. They win the immodest and suggestive dress aword: cleavage; half bare breasts; tight and from-fitting blue jeans; visible tattoos on breasts and upper backsides. All of these achievements can even be seen in church on Sundays.

Of all the negative counterculture achievements abortion is at the top of the list. The fact the over 30 million (30,000,000) abortions in America have taken place since 1973 clearly speaks for itself. It’s simply horrendous and very much unforgivable! Thirty million women have that to deal with at their eternal life review. Wow!

The fact that so many millions of America live a Godless life and make up their own rules for living is also unthinkable. So much evil on a daily basis is so common and acceptable now. It is an upside down American culture with no end in sight, and it is so very unfair that the millions of Americans who live God’s way, keep His Commandments, and do so on a daily basis have to be surrounded and directly affected by so many negative counterculture achievements.

Some American Fallen Idols, By Roger Behra

Some American Fallen Idols

By

Roger Behra

The American sports world has many fallen idols: O. J. Simpson; Tiger Woods; Mark McGuire; Barry Bonds; Roger Clemens; Sammy Sosa; A-Rod just to name a few great ones. Now, once again the sports world is reeling from the gigantic revelation that seven times Tour de France cycling winner -Lance Armstrong- was involved in the biggest doping scandal in international history. He is the biggest and most famous fall from grace in American society since O. J. Simpson.

After seven years of vehemently and defiantly denying that he used performance enhancing drugs he finally told the world that he doped during his cycling career. He told that he used testosterone, cortisone, human growth hormone, and the blood booster EPO. He stopped at nothing to enhance his winning posture.

It is very puzzling why he would pick this point in time to make his revelations. It is also puzzling that he did not look down the road to see and realize what he was going to eventually have to face when the truth hit the fan? Didn’t he realize he would be stripped of his medals? Didn’t he realize he would have to return millions of dollars? Didn’t he realize that lawsuits were in the mix? Didn’t he realize that he would be barred from future cycling events? Didn’t he realize that so many of his fans would become angry at his cheating behavior?

Armstrong didn’t realize he was cheating because so many of the cyclists were using performance enhancing drugs. Doping was wide spread among Tour de France cyclist. So, the conclusion is this: don’t ask him to return his medals; don’t sue him; don’t force him to return millions of dollars. Leave everything as is, because the best doper won.

All eight (8) of these men mentioned here have several things in common. All were born with great physical assets. All had great athletic ability. All became very famous with their physical assets and athletic ability. Millions of dollars came their way. But the most noticeable thing they had in common was their .25¢ cent brains. That caused them to be not worth much in the end. Do the math: 8 x .25¢ cents equals $2.00. Now, they will always be remembered as great fallen idols, who squandered their fame, and in some cases their money, because of their .25¢ cent small brains. Their disgusted and angry fans will always regard them as such.

The baseball players will suffer the most and greatest loss. They will never be enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame. It will be their saddest loss. Instead of the Hall of Fame it will always be the Hall of Shame because of their .25¢ cent brains. And Lance Armstrong will have to give back millions of dollars and the seven (7) medals he won as a cheater.

A Matter of Justice, By Roger Behra

A Matter of Justice

By

After almost thirty years of stalling and evasive action some form of justice is right around the corner for many of the victims of child sexual abuse by so many Catholic priests during the 1980’s and 1990’s in the Los Angeles California, Archdiocese. At the center of the trail to justice, which will take several long months is retired Cardinal Roger Mahony and the internal disciplinary files of 14 priests that were made public on January 21, 2013. The files that the D. A. has show that Mahoney and top aides maneuvered to shield molester priests from everyone. The Los Angeles D. A. has a real job searching for criminal evidence.

It’s mind-boggling when one realizes just how many Catholic priests have been involved in homosexual child sex abuse as well as some heterosexual child sex abuse since the early 1980’s. What adds to the mind-boggling is so many top aids made sure that none of the scandal ever reached the parishioners or the public, as well as the law officials. Information given out in the print and radio media strongly now reveals that child sexual abuse has occurred throughout the church.

The L. A. prosecutors are reviewing thousands of pages from internal disciplinary files of 14 priests. Some of the documents give strong evidence that Mahoney and a top aide worked together to protect one priest who revealed in therapy that he raped an 11-year-old body and abuse up to 17 other boys. This is only the tip of a very large iceberg. When it all comes out, it’s going to horrendous, indeed.

The Catholic Church in general is very good, wholesome, and beneficial to millions of Catholics. The whole church cannot be condemned because some priests and aides have brought shame and discredit to the church.

The church has learned a most valuable lesson, and it has been the hard way. Now the church has to be on constant guard and always in the future. It has already started with careful seminarian choices, careful procedures in seminaries, and the use of mostly girls as after servers during Holy Masses.

Valuable lessons were learned so that a valuable, correct, and consistent remedy can be maintained, but it wasn’t without considerable pain and disgrace. Cardinal Roger Mahoney is suffering a great deal of that pain disgrace right now as he starts his retirement. It is possible Mahoney was trying to protect the church in general and the parishioners from the internal evil and not the molester type priests.

All Cardinal Mahoney has going for him is the stature of limitations and our prayers. Yes, pray for him that his newly started retirement will not be a rocky road with a criminal judgment against him.

The Time Is Now, By Roger Behra

The Time Is Now

By

Roger Behra

With a large part of the world in chaos that includes war, fighting and killing each other, poverty, and disarray, it is time now that leaders must seriously realize the time has come for them to change their senseless and damaging ways of leading their countries. There is so much hate and unrest going on, it is hard to know where to begin. In still other parts on the world people have a very inferior way of life with little change because of the failed leadership of those in charge, and that includes five (5) well know countries: China, North Korea, Russia, Vietnam, and Syria. Mexico has her own problems because of the great poverty going on there. The leaders of these countries must learn the following list of ‘yeses’ and implement them as their leadership changes. And the sooner it happens the better it will be for their people.

All leaders must know this list of ‘yeses’ given here and keep them firmly in mind as they change their leadership, because they are directly connected to the people being governed. The list includes:

1.      Yes, God, our Lord and Savior, is REAL.
2.      Yes, there is a life after earthly life, and it is eternal.
3.      Yes, we are all creatures of God who enter eternal life upon death.
4.      Yes, we all must die and then have a complete life review.
5.      Yes, one’s kind of eternity depends on how well we keep God’s Commandments and well we think, live, act, and treat others accordingly.
6.      Yes, there are happy and unhappy kinds of eternal life, and sooner or later we all must experience one of them which last forever.

There is plenty of proof in books the real life experiences of people that the list of ‘yeses’ contains absolute facts. The following are truly persuasive examples on record because of the near-death-experience (NDE) factor:

A.    A nine-year old girl told her mother what happened during her NDE. She was in a most beautiful place, there were other people there. One of them was her three-year-old brother who she never heard about from her family members. The girl began crying and asked her mother why she was never told about her three-year-old brother who died before she was born. The mother was astonished.
B.     Dr. Melvin Morse is pediatrician. One day one of his seven-year-old girl patients had an NDE. The next day she told Morse of her experience, and Morse laughed and told her she was just dreaming. The girl patted him on his arm and told not to worry that someday he would know it was not a dream. After dozens of years of research Morse is no longer an atheist and a firm believer in God and an afterlife.
C.     A sixteen-year-old gang member was shot and had an NDE. It lasted for several minutes. It was a very frightening experience. He was in a very dark place. Spirit entities were on fire wandering around aimlessly, crying, and wailing out, and he recognized three of them as gang member friends who died in gang fights. He completely changed his life, graduated from high school, and became a Methodist minister, who counsels teens to never take up gang life.

People who do not know or avoid the list of ‘yeses’, will be like Dr. Morse. “Someday they will know”. And the error of their way can be an eternally sad one.

Clarification Is Needed, By Roger Behra

SHORT COMMUNICATIONS 332

Clarification Is Needed

By

Roger Behra

Every so often the print and radio media states the fact that America’s school are in very poor, disorganized, and unproductive mode affairs. However, the medias are quite guilty of not adequately clarifying and explaining the why story. They fail to tell just that makes up the conglomerate of America’s four kinds of schools systems. So their statements are only partially correct. The print and radio media is more interested in telling people what teacher had with what female student in the classroom after school hours, or what gang member was shot on his way home from school, or what female teacher was giving alcohol to some of her male students and then getting involved in sexual behavior. The modern day media leaves a great deal to be desired.

The media fails to explain that the American School System is made up four (4) separate systems: Catholic schools; other religious schools; private schools; public schools, and that only one of systems is in a very poor are productive mode…

The media needs to tell everyone that Catholic schools are head and shoulder above the other three (3) systems. Parents have to pay to have their children rolled, but parents are very satisfied with the end results. In regards to natal high school graduation rates, Catholic schools graduate 99.4% of their pup and 84.9% of them attend a four-year college. That is outstanding news.

The other religious schools are not as successful as Catholic schools, but they are adequate in comparison to the remaining two systems. Other religious schools graduate 98.1% of their high school pupils and 61.3% of them attend a four-year college. That is very acceptable.

The other private schools are considerably below Catholic schools. They are on moderately productive academically, and only 57.2% percent of their high schools graduates attend a four-year college.

At the very bottom of the list of school system is America’s Public School System. At one time they were very good. They became poorly organized, poorly productive, and poorly kept up when the U. S. Government got into the act with government money. With the money came mandates, changes in administration procedures changes in what could or could not be taught, and changes in how schools should be organized. To sum it up, government money help became a great public disaster.

Only 35% percent of high school students is public schools actually graduate only 39.5% of that 35% percent attend a four-year college. There are a few de public schools scattered throughout America, but they are few and far between.

Most American public school are dens of iniquity, full of horrendous discipline problems, poor academic results, and meeting places for unpleasant and unacceptable moral behavior. The once very acceptable American Public Schools can now correctly called great American Public Disgraces.

The Evil Among Evils

By

Roger Behra

The year 2012 was a very bad year in the American culture for a very specific reason: the proliferation of pornography. As the year progressed it became abundantly clear the pornography became increasingly influential at a fast clip in the lives of many Americans. In many lives it simply took over. In many lives it simply took over to the point that it was the ruined a great deal of lives, and all the credit goes to computerization and online access. Pornography in America has become a scourge.

In October of 2012 a male teacher was arrested at his high school and charged with having sex with one of his female students-in classroom after school hours. His computer was also confiscated. It was loaded with pornography.

A Catholic priest was arrested because he was named in a child sex abuse scandal, and substantial amount of pornography was found on his computer.

A recent newspaper article reported that more than 200 adults have been arrested in international investigation of child pornography. The victims shown on the computer ranged in age from 1 to 17 years of age. Several of the arrested were American citizens.

Children as young as 11 and 12 are known to be addicted to computer pornography. Libraries have had to restrict online activity to eliminate pornography, because people would enter and use the library to view it. Parents have become astounded, alarmed, and enraged when they discover their child is engaged in pornography after it was found on their bedroom computer. The online pornography website gets the most hits because it is so easy to bring it up online.

When the U. S. Supreme Court ruled that pornography is a form of free speech, they did not do the American culture any good at all. Their decision has caused a multitude of problems that did not exist before. Pornography is only the tip of the iceberg. It leads to so many other immoral and evil behaviors: rape; child sexual abuse; addiction; child exploitation; ruined lives and careers; jail and prison terms; infidelity; divorces; murders. Pornography is a great tool of Satan and his demonic entity helpers. Everyone has to be on their moral guard because pornography is so addictive and so readily available to the young and to adults. It is another prime example of where God and His influence is absent, Satan and his evil helpers are noticeably present. All night thinking people realize that God and His influence was totally and clearly absent that fateful day at the U. S. Supreme Court decades ago when pornography was decelerated a form of free speech and can not be banned. It is very addictive. It is a form pure and unadulterated evil. It is the great evil among many other evils that pornography has spawned. It is the result of the U. S. Supreme Court opening Pandora’s box to the existence of so many other evils in America’s culture.
